July 2005

CJ came home on Friday July 1st and went back to the hospital on Saturday July 2nd from a fever, and swelling from the central line area. My heart could not take seeing my son suffer any more so his father went instead. It has been so hard today to smile at Victor while his brother is being treated at the hospital. After a series of tests, my husband called me to say that CJ had pneumonia and now needed yet another blood transfusion. All I could do was start praying and crying out to God. I know that he is able to heal CJ and that there is a reason that we are all going through all of this. I felt that my having cancer was a sacrifice to the glory of God and I feel yet the same about CJ. This story will travel around the world telling all that read this site that the Lord is truly able to carry us through. We were released on Monday July 4th after we were told that CJ did not have pneumonia. Two days later (July 6th) CJ was back in the hospital again. We were told that he had an infection that was pneumonia like. (Aspirating pneumonia) July 10th CJ pulled out his feeding tube. (July 11th) Victor had his check up and weighed in at 17pds 5 ounces. At this point daddy and I were staying overnight at the hospital every two days. Eight days had passed and CJ's infection was still not clearing up as soon as expected. CJ would have to get a ct scan to see if he had an infection in his stomach. (July 19th) I took CJ down for his ct scan. He seemed so very happy in my arms. After the scan he slep most of the morning from the sleeping med that he received. Later on we found out that his abdomen was completely clear. We were hoping that CJ be released on the following Wednesday. (July 22nd) I returned back to the hospital from my two day rest at home. CJ made me feel happy all over again. Finally Back Home Again July 27th, CJ was released after 21 long days. We were so very happy to leave that hospital. He was all smiles and once again his friends came to say goodbye. Once we reached home, CJ was so very happy to play with his brother. He looked as if he was right at home. He played with grandma and finally went off to sleep. I close for now and say God Bless and Goodnight.

August 2005

August 3rd, We had to take CJ back to Egleston to get a blood transfusion. We were only there for one day. It felt so good to leave the hospital without a very long stay. August 9th was daddies birthday and just the two of us went out to dinner. My mom kept the babies for us. I got daddy an ice cream caramel cake and we went home to enjoy with the rest of the family. August 11th, we met the representative from Baby's can't wait. This is an awesome program that allows babies to get physical therapy and other services for sick babies. August 12th, Dr. C.Cole went down on CJ's' tpn, he is doing very well. August 23rd CJ met his new PT rep. (Tessa). At first he was happy to see her but when he realized that she was going to work his body, he had a fit. It was so very funny seeing him react to her. He cried so hard to get her off of him. We gave him a break after about 30 minutes. August 25th we met with the surgeon for CJ and were told that he would not be getting his surgery for reconnection until 2006. We were so very disappointed but we understood why the surgeon decided to make that decision. We were reminded that our little CJ was right at deaths door before he had his first surgery only 10 days after birth. August 26th, CJ was admitted back to the hospital because he had a fever. We found out that he had a little bug and had to get antibiotics for a few days. August 27th, CJ's' Uncle Dre and Auntie Yasmin came all the way from New Jersey to see the babies. It was a great visit. CJ clung to Yasmin immediately. It was a quick visit but a really nice one.

September 2005

Sept. 8th, CJ got his shots in the pediatricians office. He was a little trooper. Sept. 9th, CJ was admitted back to the hospital because he was bleeding from his ostomy. There was a little cut on his ostomy and they planned to send CJ home. We were released on Sept. 12th. Sept. 27th was eight years a marriage for me and daddy. We went to Red Lobster for dinner. The nurse had both babies with here on the opposite side of the table. It was quite nice to be with daddy and have the babies there with us. They were perfect angels at dinner.
